I must say that after simmering this long term project on a back burner, I have finally sunk my teeth into it, finding it rich and tasty.
I am enjoying the literary perimeters of the alphabet as a ground for thinking, playing with words, their meanings, their alternate connotations and actual text. Although I have always had a literary bent, this is new for me. It feels like a risk in my practice, an appropriate one.
Working in random order through the alphabet I find that many of my choices are double edged or are weapons we use against ourselves.
The work seems different, not so sexual, still with a femme bent- and still visceral, body oriented sculpture: still MINE.
